~~This year, four players will be representing the Milwaukee Brewers in this year's All-Star game. Those players are Carlos Gomez, Jonathan Lucroy, Aramis Ramirez, and Francisco Rodriguez (a.k.a K-Rod). This year's Brewers have four All-Stars for the first time since 2007 and they are off to perhaps the best start in franchise history with a 52-37 record to this point in the year. Because of their success, this year's Midsummer Classic is more important than ever for the Brew Crew.

This isn't the NBA All-Star game, which doesn't effect any team at all. This is the MLB All-Star game. Everyone is playing for home-field advantage in the World Series, especially players on good teams. Other than the postseason, this is the most important game of the year for every team. In the All-Star game, winning is the only thing that matters and rivalries are put to rest for one night.

It is now or never for Milwaukee. This is the best team that they've had in a long time. They know that this one year may be their only chance at a title. The way I see it, the Brewers can't afford the National League losing this game, especially with teams like the A's and the Tigers in the American League. The Brewers winning this year's pennant isn't guaranteed, but it is a possibility at this point. And, if the Brewers do reach the World Series, having to play more games on the road against the A's wouldn't be fun.

While most fans consider the All-Star game as merely a celebration of the game of baseball, it is much more than that. This game is nerve-racking for every contender in the majors because it could effect the course of the whole season. And, this is the best Brewers team we will probably witness for a while. So, in order for Milwaukee's Cinderella season to continue, I believe that the National League has to win this year's All-Star game. When you are enjoying this year's All-Star game, just remember that this game is more important than you think.
