~~It's official! Tim Lincecum just threw the second no-hitter of his career against the San Diego Padres. Tim struck out 6 batters and walked only one batter while sporting his new mustache. What we saw today was the old Tim Lincecum and it sure was a relief after witnessing his struggles over the past two seasons.
So, in the past month, there have been three no-hitters. All three were orchestrated by a pitcher from the NL West. Although Lincecum's performance today wasn't as impressive as that of Clayton Kershaw just a week ago, his no-hitter may mark his revival. In just two years, Lincecum has gone from an ace to a #4 starter on the Giants staff. Today's no-hitter is a good sign.
It's funny how both Josh Beckett and Tim Lincecum have thrown no-hitters this season. We thought they were done. But, they once again are proving why they were once elite. For the Giants, this may give them a boost after nearly losing their lead in the division. For the Dodgers, who are battling with the Giants for the lead in the division, this is not good news. Anyway, congratulations Tim Lincecum on your second no-hitter.
