~~The NBA summer league has begun in Orlando, with 1/3 of the NBA teams participating. But, the other 20 will technically begin their season on Friday night in the Las Vegas summer league. There are plenty of stars expected to play in the Las Vegas summer league, but this list highlights the top players to watch:
Tim Hardaway Jr., Knicks
Tim Hardaway Jr. is the future of the New York Knicks. Granted that Melo leaves NY, Hardaway could find himself in the Knicks starting lineup at the beginning of the 2014 season. He shot the 3-ball effectively as a rookie and has the potential to be an excellent shooting guard in the future.
Andrew Wiggins and Anthony Bennett, Cavaliers
The Cavs past two #1 number picks are looking to make an impression. Wiggins has a lot on his shoulders considering that he was this year's #1 pick. And, Bennett is just trying to prove that he isn't a total draft bust. All eyes will be on both of them. Cleveland may be able to pick up LeBron in free agency, but Bennett and Wiggins will be the x-factors for the Cavs in upcoming years.
Jabari Parker, Bucks
Before the draft, I stated that I thought Jabari Parker was a better prospect than Andrew Wiggins. Wiggins went #1, while Parker was drafted second overall. Now, he'll get to prove whether he is better than Wiggins or not. Parker is extremely talented and can practically play three different positions (SG,SF,PF). Bucks fans are hoping that Jabari is their savior and this will be our first taste of what he will be like in the NBA.
Kyle Anderson, Spurs
Anderson was considered the most versatile player in college. At UCLA, he was a triple-double machine. Now, he is going into the best situation possible. He's joining a team full of veteran leaders and his coach is a master at turning promising rookies into great NBA players. Out of every rookie in this class, I feel like Anderson could end up having the best career. His NBA journey will begin on Friday night against the Kings.
